In this lesson we will make a study of four different trees, so you can have an example of what to look for and how to find patterns in their way of growing. We will also get into some brush techniques, that will help to paint the trees in an easy way. Everything you learn here, you can adapt on other trees too. Maybe next time you go for a walk, find yourself a species of trees, try to understand how they grow and sketch their pattern until your hand and mind remembers it. This is all about practice!
Our landscape could be finished at this point! You can either leave it like it is or join this lesson and add more details. What we have created now could be the base of a much more complex painting. It’s something you can basically endlessly build upon by adding more details, more lines and really dive into your landscape. You decide how detailed and refined you want to have your painting and what you are comfortable with. It’s just important to keep one level of details.
In this session we will finish our landscape by adding more details. This is includes a lot of fine work with the liner, which is a bit more advanced and difficult. If you are comfortable with that, feel welcome to join in and take your painting to a whole new level by adding individual branches, leaves and grasses.
